  • Reading to Success

    Thank you for your generous donation, the students were so ecstatic to be abel to immerse themselves into their new books.

    The students immediately showed a new interest in enhancing their reading skills by diving into these book. Flat Stanley is one of their favorites, they have even asked to do a project to make their own flat Stanley's.

    We are already in the beginning stages of making flat Stanley's, the students are going to be making them for April Break and will be taking photos of them where ever they go for the break and will be doing a writing project.

  • Super Readers!

    Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students in my class were ecstatic when they received the ELA materials to help with their diverse learning needs.

    Immediately, the students wanted to put these tools to use in the classroom. Already we are seeing the students being more engaged and excited to learn the phonics needed to succeed in the educational setting.

    The students in my class are using a curriculum called Fundations. Fundations helps students understand the phonetics and bending of sounds found in everyday literature and in the english language. The students have already begun making connections form the materials to the Foundations Curriculum.”

Once this project is fully funded, I will be creating hands-on interactive lesson plans that allow the students to interact with building on their literacy skills. By providing a hands-on approach to reading and making it more engaging, will we see an increase in literacy skills. Using the materials provided in this project, the students will use each manipulate separately, however each will help build on the same skill and will be scaffolded into each lesson. Students will first use the Phonics Touch and Read word match to build on visual/words that they need to know. After they have gained a mastery in that, they will move on to the flip and read sight words to build on their newly developed skills. Finally, to demonstrate mastery in their literacy, students will build words they have learned with the magnetic sight words.
