Calming Area
Funded Jan 18, 2023My students are using the new resources daily. Each morning we start to write in our notebooks. We develop skills in growth mindset and social emotional learning. We read, apply, write, and reflect throughout each day of the week.
When my students first saw the boxes of material come in the were so excited. They felt like it was a holiday with gifts for everyone. We decided how we would use and share the material.
Next steps include how we can change and grow our calming area. We will need to replenish some of the material that was consumable. We are grateful for everything we received. Thank you so much!”

Squeeze out that Creative Juice!
Funded Sep 2, 2016My students were so excited when they started to see the boxes of material arrive to the classroom. We were so tired after unpacking everything that we needed a healthy snack! There were so many nutritious choices of fruits, snacks the contained whole grains, organics, and vegetables. As they ate the snacks we had a discussion about which food group it belonged to and how it provided us with energy.
We couldn't use the juicer or sushi maker quite yet. We came up with a menu and the foods that we wanted to go in it. Everyone from the class donated something to help make it. We worked together to help peel the fruits and vegetables and used the remainder as compost for a garden. I wanted to teach my students not to be wasteful and that we could reuse things. I was amazed how we all worked together to prepare and even clean up. My students went home and shared with their families the details that went in to making these treats. I know that I have brought them a little closer to making better food choices.
Thank you so much for making this possible for my students.”

Funded Dec 7, 2011Your donations for blank books has made a world of difference to my students and we are all extremely grateful to you. Since the books arrived my students have used them for their writing projects and illustrations. The students are becoming knowlegeabe in how to use the writing process and become authors. They are learning how to draft and edit responsibly and are publishing great books.
Our school district is suffering under the most recent budget cuts but with your kind donations our students have been given and will continue to receive complete and meaningful learning experiences using what has become an essential component of education.

Funded Dec 15, 2011Words cannot express how amazed we are that total strangers are invested in our education. As a California school, we are currently facing extreme budget cuts. Donations, now more than ever, help supplement and enrich the learning of all my students. Through donorschoose.org, we have received numerous supplies and I am overwhelmed by how giving generous donors, such as yourself, can be.
With your supplies I have been able to enrich classroom activities across the curriculum on a daily basis. The materials that you supplied us with will be able to be used for years to come.”

Funded Dec 30, 2010I am truly grateful for you generosity in funding this project which is bringing my students the opportunity to do things they enjoy. Moreover, because of your kindness my students are inspired and excited about learning.
These materials will engage the students and push them to succeed. We are always looking for new ways to teach specific skills. It is people like you that make a difference in our school system.
Not only have you provided an opportunity for the students in our class to produce high quality work that will truly demonstrate their level of knowledge, you have also helped build self-esteem and pride in the work students display. Thank you for your kind and generous donations.
