We currently only have two water fountains in our hallway that must be shared among multiple grade levels. Many of our students bring water bottles to school, so they can stay hydrated throughout the day during class-time; however, most students opt for going out to get a drink directly from the fountain to avoid the hassle of filling a water bottle. Our project will help students stay hydrated, without losing valuable classroom time, with a water bottle filling station. Students will be able to fill water bottles quickly and efficiently. Students would not have to tilt water bottles to try and get the maximum amount of water possible, which for most bottles is not full. This leads to more frequent trips to the fountain, and valuable learning time lost. Not only would the water bottle filling station provide more efficient water bottle filling, it would also allow students without the resources to bring a water bottle more opportunity to get a drink and also stay hydrated. Finding ways to help our students stay hydrated most efficiently is important in order to promote learning.
