Although most classrooms use an array of computerized technology), the simple things matter too. Students in my social studies classes spend a lot of time reading, thinking, listening, speaking, and writing. In social studies classes, we summarize complex information, respond to prompts about the world past and present, and argue positions on various questions of global importance --- and this often requires old-fashioned paper and pencil! These basic skills that we develop and practice are the foundation for Common Core standards. They require basic tools that are OFTEN in short supply --- paper notebooks and pencils. My classroom runs out of these materials every year! Please help us re-stock. Thank you!
