Having a classroom rug where all my students have a spot to listen to stories read and lessons done in whole group would help them become better listeners. Students would feel like they belong and everyone has a spot on the rug. It would help our classroom community by bringing us all together but still giving them personal space. The rug would help the students stay engaged in the stories read aloud instead of worrying about having a spot on the rug. The students would be comfortable sitting while learning new things. A classroom rug would help the students know they are important.
