Getting a cast set of character shoes for my students removes an obstacle between them and being prepared for rehearsal and performance. This alleviates a burden on the families in providing an extra cost for their student to participate in our theatre program. Having shoes that are available for them will let them have a sense of pride and ownership to their character. Many of my students do not have the funds to provide costumes for each play and these shoes will be a great benefit to our department. Creating a space for costume storage is a work in progress and the students will be excited to add to it.
