Play Racks
Funded Sep 21, 2022We are all truly grateful for the donations we received. The racks made our Tom Sawyer show a huge success. We were able to stay organized and the clothing racks made transporting costumes easy and safe. All of our cast and crew are all so thankful for taking the stress away with having all their costumes in one place. Students were able to hang their clothes in a place that they could easily find all that they needed instead of in boxes or Rubbermaid containers. Costumes were neat and wrinkle free. We cannot describe how much these racks and hangers have contributed to the success of our performance and will do so for future performances.”

Funded Dec 15, 2021When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was filled with an abundance of joy. Teaching in a low-income community has its challenges and I often find myself using my own money to purchase the necessary supplies kids need to be successful. However, when other people such as yourself find the ability to spread generosity, it truly means more than you can imagine.
The day the boxes arrived, my students had so much fun unpacking each item and had even more fun putting each curtain up. They were ecstatic to get up on a ladder and decorate the class. It was a very special moment to see the smiles on their faces. They felt responsible for making the class look bright and beautiful. The beauty of the curtains will last for years to come!
When they found out this project was funded, my students jumped with excitement. One of my students said, "Ms. now our class really is the best." I am a person that believes in the importance of representing your space. I tell my students there is a special person inside all of us and sometimes we can express that through our own creativity. I tell them that our homes and bedrooms are a representation of who we are and our classroom should do the same. School is a second home to all of us and I cannot thank you enough for helping make it feel more like us!”

Funded Dec 2, 2016Our project is still in swing. We are about halfway through the project, still preparing our garden. We are still planning to remodel the garden throughout the school year. We are planning to use more of the wood to create more models and birdhouses. The resources you have provided has allowed us to maintain our goal. The materials such as spray paint is helping us paint tires and make them into pots for plants. The wood is helping us make bird houses which will provide shelter for the birds; making our school a more ecosystem-friendly environment.
We are have been learning the impact of how simple things such as cleaning up our community could potentially lead us as a community not only to progress, but progress as human beings. We can help our community to make it a better place, place our mark in history and be remembered. We have worked hard with some of the most selfless students. They are committed to making their community their home, and a better place for themselves and the future. We have learned that teamwork really does make dreams come true and thanks to your generosity we are closer to achieving our goals.”
