These resources (Rasberry Pi 3B+ w/ monitors in conjunction with the router) will be used to keep students engaged in opportunities that will build their confidence. Learning programming can be difficult, but these smaller devices allow it to be done easier thus allowing the students to feel accomplished. The PVC requested will be utilized in designing and building the obstacles the students will be flying their drones through. This is necessary to learn how to program, test, and update on the Rasberry Pi's the programming necessary to fly the drones. It also teaches my students how to work through the Engineering Process. We can inspire young people to be leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting opportunities that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that develop well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. We can also use these items to host events with other schools and encourage additional socialization in fun and exciting ways. Anything that we can do to get students together in a safe way helps relieve anxiety and encourages the value of social engagement. While the planning and learning will take place during regularly scheduled time, the resources will also help keep students engaged if they have to be away from the classroom. The development of self-esteem and lifelong skills cannot be emphasized enough.
