I am developing my free voluntary reading library for my Spanish students. Research shows that reading is one of two input devices that lead to acquisition. In order for this into to be most effective, it needs to be comprehensible and compelling. In other words, they have to like what they read. This project will give my students access to magazines in Spanish. This will give them an alternative to the books that are already in the library. The more choice they have, the more likely they will find something that they like. These magazines are also leveled. This will help with comprehensibility.
