This is an ENL/ESL classroom. More than 50% of the students are have a Spanish background. Many of them do not have access to the internet at home. We would use the Chromebooks daily in the classroom for various reasons. First, we would use it during our small group ELA block to enhance literacy learning as well as listen to audio books. I will be able to assign work online and assess student progress. In addition, the Chromebooks will be utilized during our small group math block. The Chromebooks will be used as part of our math rotation where students can math fluency in a fun and engaging way. The Chromebooks will also be beneficial to our social studies curriculum. As we delved into history and study different communities around the world, students will be given an opportunity to research various countries or famous individuals in history.
As stated by George Couros, "Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of a great teacher can be transformational." I agree that integrating technology in the classroom will enhance my students' education.
