An iPad can help improve a student's learning and help lighten a therapists workload. There are several studies that have been done on the benefits of using an ipad during therapy sessions. They help to engage the student and to increase their skills. iPad’s can also help the therapist with their paperwork and evaluations.
The ipad and pencil will engage the student’s attention so that they can learn to slow down when learning the correct formation of a letter or drawing through a simple maze. There are several apps that would help students learn simple typing programs. There are also apps that can help younger children with finger isolation, pincer grasp, and visual motor control. The case would not only keep the ipad safe with the kids, but it would allow them to work on a variety of different angels.
The iPad would help to decrease the therapist workload by allowing them to complete paperwork either by typing or voice to text. It would help the therapist complete evaluations by allowing them to record the child replay in in slow motion later on. There are apps available that include different evaluations to use on both younger students and high school students.
