A strength-based classroom is a place where students with labels come together as equals to form a new type of learning environment.-Thomas Armstrong Many have left behind gang violence and trauma and making the decision to come to an alternative school where their unique needs medically, behaviorally, and academically can be met. Today they attend Jefferson Junior HS and are learning to adapt to real-world situations and challenges. Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential. With your help, we can acquire the tools and skills to reach those goals. Many of the most in-demand 21st-century jobs require skills in reading, writing, and personal skills. With your help, we can not only gather more materials for my students but also provide an environment to help keep them engaged and focused along the way.
