  • Our Class is All Ears!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

We cannot thank you enough for this generous donation. Our students are working on independence and creating a space for remote instruction. The students love wearing their microphones during the meet and have been extremely focused. When the students are in small groups, they are able to hear everyone share out clearly and take pride when using the microphone that is attached. We have also used these to practice wearing if we get a job at a fast food restaurant. The students thought it was funny to practice reading McDonald's orders during our vocational lesson. We are loving them!”

  • Master Chef Cooking Shows!

    Funded Sep 9, 2020

This project has given the students who are blended learners the opportunity to practice cooking in the classroom. Since students are asked to social distance and can only use their own items, this was a perfect way to make this activity possible. The students have made chocolate treats, practiced making lunches and even brought some food home that they cooked. Students were allowed to bring their cooking supplies home to work with their parents in the kitchen. Thank you all for allowing our students work on functional skills in the classroom and to create memories with their families during a difficult time.”

  • Comic Book Distance Learning Fun

    Funded Jun 1, 2020

Many of our students enjoys using art as a way to describe the events that take place in their lives. In our school, we use art as a way to discuss interests and to help build communication skills within the classroom. Students need these tools to help them initiate conversations with their peers, stay engaged throughout the lesson and to reinforce skills learned in classroom discussions. Thank you for allowing us to give these things to our students to use during this difficult time. Our students who are remote have been given the supplies that they need to create stories of their own and to share during live instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tiffany Martinez

For 10 years, I've worked with the most loving, hardworking and funny students. Throughout the year, students work on functional academics and vocational skills to build independence to prepare them for postsecondary opportunities. They volunteer their time to bag over 300 meals for seniors at Meals on Wheels per week, launder linens for the school-based restaurant and sell Philly pretzels throughout the school building to practice business skills. Through every step, they work their hardest, they are eager to participate and they complete the job skills consistently. Help me show them that their community appreciates their dedication by giving them a small act of kindness. Each donation is greatly appreciated!
