  • In Shape

    Funded Sep 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness in donating to support my classroom. The world needs more people like you!

My class was thrilled to receive new materials to enhance their learning. At first, they were very interested in the shapes and building different images with them. As we dive into our geometry unit they will be able to make connections with the variety of blocks and with hands-on learning. They were most intrigued with the protractors because they have not yet used them in their learning career. I am excited to have quality tools when we start measuring and labeling angles, which is a big part of 4th grade.

Thank you again for your support in my classroom. I will affect many students over the years!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Anderson

  • Recess for the Mind

    Funded Jan 23, 2022

I wanted to reach out and express my gratitude for your generous donations to fund my class project! When my students saw all the deliveries that were made to our classroom they instantly began to be excited. They were even more thrilled when we had an "unboxing party" and opened all of the items and they discovered they were materials just for them!

When all the materials were finally organized we had an explore day. Students got to discover and build, create and design, problem solve and think critically all while feeling like they were playing. They loved the freedom that they were given to engineer their own ideas and express themselves in a variety of ways. A lot of my students work best when they do things hands-on, so this was a wonderful opportunity for them.

These materials are now used in my classroom as indoor recess supplies. Whenever we are not able to go outside to physically exercise our bodies, whether it is because of the weather, air quality, or other factors, my students still get a fun outlet to take a break. This is a way for us to work out and strengthen our minds so that my students can be more successful in their classwork. Thank you for making a difference in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Anderson

  • Characters Like Me!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

My students were so touched by your donations! These character-building books came at a perfect time in my class. We have had many conversations throughout the year about how we should treat ourselves and others. I wasn't seeing a difference in the character of my students until these books arrived.

Even though my students are 4th graders and are ten years old, they love being read to. We sit at the back of our classroom in a group and they listen and learn from books by making connections and enjoying the story. We read a picture book together at least three times a week!

A few of my students that have a hard time connecting to others are really enjoying these new books. They are able to see their emotions and feelings portrayed through a character in a book and are then able to use that example to work through their emotions.

These books carry such strong messages that my students have learned from and will continue to connect to for years to come. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Anderson

In my classroom I have one-to-one Chromebooks making it really easy for every student to use technology everyday. We use Chromebooks daily for math, reading, and science instruction. This type of technology is so motivating for my students and every time I give instructions for them to get out Chromebooks their faces light up! While it is great that we have such helpful technology ready for use, there are a couple of other sense stimulating parts that can be implemented for better student use! Most activities we use Chromebooks for require headphones. Students watch videos for science and math and listen to books being read to them. I have a few working headphones in my classroom, but with continual use these headphones are breaking and becoming unusable. In order for my students to be successful they need working headphones. With this class set of headphones, students will spend less time looking for working headphones and more time on task and learning new content. Mice are a tool that make navigation on the Chromebook easier and quicker, especially for students. Each Chromebooks has a touch mouse pad built in, but often times my students aren’t able to navigate where they want to as easily and precisely, especially when it comes to scrolling. With this class set of mice my students will be able to create, discover, and extend their knowledge with ease, without getting stuck using the touch mouse pad.
