A Few Art Room Essentials
Funded Oct 1, 2021Wow! Thank you so much for continuing to support young artists! These essential art supplies are ALWAYS in need - and this time is no different. Students have been able to continue to make artworks because of the support you've given - and we, the students and myself, are so grateful. Student artists have used the paper, markers, and other supplies through December and will continue to use the materials to make works in preparation for Youth Art Month in March. Thank you again for your continued support!!”

Funded Sep 10, 2021It is truly amazing how much of a role the classroom environment plays in how students work and are motivated in a space. Changing up the lighting in our art room has created such a calm and relaxing space for art making! The globe lamp shines bright over our bookshelf and the small set of lights has helped to brighten up our sink and front door area. Thank you so much for supporting this project and helping to create a relaxing and productive work space for kiddos in Central Virginia! Thank you again!!”

Funded Sep 8, 2021Our kindergarten and first grade students have LOVED having access to playdough during art. Playdough came in extra handy when we started our clay unit with little ones because they were able to learn and practice making pinch pots with the playdough before we introduced clay. This was such a great and low stress way to learn a new skill. I was even able to share some of the playdough provided with our kindergarten teachers so they are able to have playdough as a resource in their classroom. Thank you again for supporting this project!”

Funded Aug 18, 2021Wow! These organizational materials have been ESSENTIAL in opening up choice art stations in the art room. The students have especially enjoyed having the drawing station open and available to them daily! I have also really enjoyed having extra white baskets to help me organize different project supplies for each of our six art tables. There is always a variety of art making projects happening throughout our classroom, and having these extra organizational supplies has really made all the difference. Thank you again!!!”

Drawing and Painting Materials
Funded Aug 10, 2021Thank you so much for supporting elementary art students in central Virginia! The students have been busy creating beautiful works of art since coming back to school last week! Kindergarten students are creating dotted polar bears using white paint and polar bears and first and second grade students are creating winter landscapes with fine pointed markers and water color. The painting and drawing supplies you provided have been essential to their making and we, the students and I, are so grateful for your kindness and support. Thank you again!”

Funded Jul 1, 2021Thank you so much for your support on this project!
I cannot tell you how much the students have enjoyed working with the stencils you helped to provide! I have created a drawing station this year for students so they can choose their own art materials each day. The stencils have been a hit! They are especially great for students who are not sure where to start, or for students who are having a hard time or are upset. The stencils give those students an opportunity to build skills, but in a way that takes the pressure off. The students and I have greatly appreciated having them as an option in our drawing station. Thank you again!!”

Fall 2021 Model Magic Creations
Funded Apr 20, 2021Thank you so much for your support in providing model magic for our students! Kindergarten used the air dry clay last week to practice squeezing, rolling, and pinching to create three dimensional foods! The kids had a blast! Students are using model magic, and then play dough, before we move to real clay. The model magic you helped purchase is helping our students build the skills they need to create real clay pieces in the coming weeks. Thank you again for your continued support. Our students greatly appreciate it!”

Painting Our Way Through Fall 2020
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you all so much for donating to purchase water color palettes for our young artists! Although water color palettes were out of stock when I went to purchase sets for our students due to high demand during virtual school, I was able to put a majority of this money towards buying paint for the 2021-2022 school year! I also asked for local donations of water color paint sets and was able to collect almost 200 sets! Enough for my first, second, and third graders. I wouldn't have been able to provide these materials to my students without all of your generosity and support. Thank you so much!”

Funded Jul 18, 2020Thank you all so much for your donations towards sketchbooks for third, fourth, and fifth grade students at the start of the 2020 school year. Virtual school was difficult for our younger students, and providing these sketchbooks helped our young artists to feel connected to our art lessons while working from home. I am also happy to report that many of our students continued to use their sketchbooks until the end of the school year, and a majority of students came to virtual art class with their sketchbooks ready throughout the year! Thank you so much for supporting our students!”
