My students LOVE to read books that feature characters they can relate to, characters that inspire them. My students want to do more reading in partners and discussions in groups, but we are limited to our current supply of books. Our school currently only has 1 or 2 copies of the most popular books, limiting our ability to incorporate them into classroom projects. Please help me provide high-quality reading experiences for my students! My students have all voted on these book selections several times before finalizing our list, ensuring they were the most popular at this time. Most of my students are struggling readers, many of which are 2 or more grade levels behind. With high-interest books and instruction, students can make almost 2 years of reading progress in just one academic year. That is life-changing for many of my students who have been resistant to reading prior to this school year. Please help me bring more relevant and meaningful reading selections to our classroom. Every students deserves to read about characters they can relate to, can see a piece of themselves through.
