Having a warm and colorful place to sit within the classroom will really make my classroom feel like a home to my students. Since the floors are linoleum, they can tend become uncomortable after sitting on them for a while. During our morning meeting that we daily, my students enjoy sitting in a circle or turning and talking to their neighbors to discuss their views and opinions on various topics. The area rug will also serve as a seating option for small groups of students who will conduct group activities with one another, learning team building and social/ emotional learning.
