  • Play and Communicate!

    Thank you so much for your extremely generous and kind gift. It is very moving as an educator to feel supported by the greater community and see tangible investment in my students. Consistent with many public school employees, I have paid out of pocket for a large portion of my materials, and I am grateful that you took that burden off of me. It is very encouraging that you recognize that it is vital to invest in our public school students - they are more than worth it!

    My students were so excited for their new materials. They can't wait to choose a game for the session, and now we have so many to choose from! While the games can appear to be just fun, they also target a variety of essential skill sets. For example, the Mr. Potato Head sets you so generously donated support my students' ability to learn body parts, prepositions (e.g., put on!), requesting/directing skills, turn-taking, and so much more. This makes for fun but also extremely impactful and productive sessions. Furthermore, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift certificate and laminating sheets have enabled me to buy and create a variety of activities, ranging from interactive books to articulation activities. I can say without reservation that your donations have made significant and meaningful impact, I can't thank you enough.”

Imagine not being able to communicate your most basic wants and needs - how frustrating would that be?! Thank you for providing FUN materials (Pete the Cat for the win!) that motivate my students to request/comment/direct the actions of others. The toys will be used in circle time, small group activities, and one-on-one therapy sessions. Just as important, my students require picture icons and core boards to interact with their community and environment - this uses a ton of ink, laminating paper, and velcro. These materials will allow preschool students in San Francisco Unified School District to expand their language abilities, which will greatly impact their success in school and beyond. THANK YOU!
