A clean, comfortable carpet is a necessity in any primary classroom. We spend a great deal of our time learning on our group time carpet. From read alouds to science investigations to partner sharing--it is used all day long. It not only provides comfort but it is a way to support community in our little classroom. It is the gathering area for our class. We interact with each other during group time as well as a place to work independently. We listen to the teacher read a story or we read to the class ourselves. We use the carpet as a place to relax and as a place to write our stories. It will definitely be used all day long and many years to come!
