Peaking students interests in science and math can be challenging art is a great bridge that leads to greater learning. Did you know that ceramic tiles are what keeps the space shuttles from burning up durning re-entry? Allowing the students to use science, the physical change of glazes and math, how much does your ceramic project weigh before it is fired and after, will get students curious about both art and science. Engaging students in critical thinking and problem solving as well as creativity creates well rounded individuals. Students will be excited and motivated when their pot is taken out of the kiln and the glaze that was a dull brown has become a vibrant blue.
