My students use manipulatives in many of their lessons, especially math. Shapes, number pegs, and dominoes will help the students count and learn shapes. They are also more involved in the lessons because they are able to show us what they are thinking even though they may not be able to put it into words. My students also have sensory needs and explore the world around them in a different way. They like to be able to squeeze things and move things. Fidgets are a great way of doing that as well as exploring fine motor skills. They are also learning daily living skills like twisting bolts to build things.
