My classroom is often a place where most students can stop by for a few moments to just settle and calm down. I aim to provide a calm and safe environment for all students. As a middle school language arts teacher, I often have students pretty discouraged in their reading levels and comprehension skills. I have noticed that when students can move to more comfortable and more private areas of the room, they are more likely to ask for help and push themselves to meet their goals!
