  • Learning From Toys: Oh, What Fun!

    Funded Feb 12, 2025

We have already begun receiving these wonderful toys and my kindergarteners are loving everything. I put out the magnetic people for them to use with our magnetic building blocks and the kids have been so creative with them. Building castles, houses and whatever else they can think of. The Community Helper figures are perfect for our Social Studies area of study.

The bristle blocks iare a new type of building block to my kids and they are loving the texture and the way they go together.

My kindergarteners creativity is shining through thanks to all of you.”

    With gratitude,

  • Numbers, Letters Oh Yeah

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

After an extended winter break because of a snowstorm, I came into school to find multiple boxes with my name on them. It was like Christmas and Hanukkah all over again.

I opened everything up right away and put out the new mermaid puzzle during recess. Five of my kids chose to do the puzzle and just loved it. They worked together by discussing the picture on the box and what pieces belong together. They collaborated better than some adults do.

On Monday I will put out the math and language arts games and let the collaboration continue.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Karen Thomas

  • Keep It Together

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me to get these seat sacks for my classroom. We have had chair bags in the past that were, unfortunately too shallow to hold the kids papers. They often got crushed or would fall out and onto the floor.

With these new sacks we will be able to put their papers together as well as fitting some of their folders.

Being able to organize the kids papers will be both helpful to me as well as them. The kids will hopefully begin to be able to keep track of some of their work.

    You are most appreciated.”

  • Watch Me Write

    Funded Nov 1, 2024

Just a few words to make sure you know how thankful I am for your support in helping me to fund this project.

My kindergarteners will be able to use these whiteboards everyday while practicing writing their names, letters and sight words. It may seem like a simple item, but being able to use these boards over and over instead of wasting paper is so helpful. Also, the importance of my kids being able to learn how to form the letters in their name is the beginning of everything.

I want you to know how appreciated you are.”

  • A "Chicka" Way to Be

    Funded Sep 2, 2024

Thank you for your incredible kindness in once again supporting my classroom.

We have already used the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom big book and tree for Language Arts to support the students letter learning. The Chicka Chicka 123 book was perfect to read to them at math time since we are learning about numbers.

The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom stuffed monkey has found a home on top of our big book easel. He watches over our kids as we learn our letters.

The workbooks that we received have been great to reinforce what we have already learned.

    Thank you again so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Karen Thomas

  • Start The Year Off Right

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my project. When I received the box I opened it immediately and put the name plate holders in place. My class just started yesterday and were very happy to be able to look at their names. The extra area on the name holder allows them to leave a pencil, gluestick or some crayons if they wish.

The little people magnets also helps them with their name recognition and taking their own attendance.

Of course it goes without saying that the big box of crayons will be well used all year long by all of us.

Your kindness in bringing this project to life is so very appreciated.”

  • Markers and Paints, What Fun

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you once again for donating and helping me to fund this project.

Art and the creative process is such an important part of a child's development. The school system seems to be pushing more and more academics, so any time I can allow a child to create something whether it is by using clay, paints, crayons or markers I am happy to.

The art supplies that will be delivered with this project will help me to help the kids do exacly that.

I hope you know how much we appreciate your generosity and how happy you have made us.”

  • Cushion My Tushie

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

Thank you so much for generously giving to and funding my project.

I can't wait to see how excited my students will be when they each get to pick their own pillow to use when they are sitting on the carpet or floor.

These pillows will not only make them more comfortable, but also will help the kids know exactly where they should be sitting.

The reusable dry erase pocket sleeves will be used both in our language arts and math stations for papers that help to reinforce lessons previously taught.

Please know that everything that was given will be well used and greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Karen Thomas

  • Glue Sticks for Everyone

    Funded Mar 17, 2024

Thank you for helping me fund this project.

You have not only helped my classroom, but some of the other classrooms as well. I received so many gluesticks that I was able to share with the other kindergarten teachers and the art teacher.

As soon as I unpacked them I put some of them into my little resupply basket. My students know to go over to this basket when they need a new gluestick. It was very nice to refill it.

I also received my glitter glue which I put into my closet until we need to use it which should be soon especially with Mother's Day coming.

Again, thank you for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Karen Thomas

I have eighteen children in my class. I work in a Title One school which means we have many children on free or reduced price lunch. Our kids are funny, sweet and eager to learn. As with any classroom, we have an assortment of personalities and I should write down all the funny sayings I hear. Our kids definitely make our day.
