Funded Nov 23, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my stem classroom! Your supplies have been so helpful to my classroom these past few months. I've been able to create hands on experiences for my students in both Geometry and Statistics. The pictures you see are from an introduction day on a triangle unit. Each day, students were given parameters and tasked with creating triangles and making conclusions based on their products. Students learned the Exterior Angle Theorem, Triangle Sum Theorem, and Congruence Angle Theorems all on their own through this experience. Rather than the "old school" style of defining theorem after theorem on the board, students were tasked with identifying these ideas on their own through this hands-on style of learning.
In AP Statistics, students used the pull back cars to measure distance traveled as it relates to pull-back distance. Students learned how to linearize there data with this lesson.
Both classes were extremely enthusiastic and excited for the hands-on lessons. Engaging activities like these keep second semester seniors excited to learn and come to class even as their high school days come to an end.
