I greatly appreciate your support to offer our students the opportunity to learn about healthy choices in a real world experience that they can carry with them into the rest of their lives. The student population in my school is made up of students with abilities and disabilities, who will need to obtain the skills to have a job and to achieve their greatest level of independence within the larger world community. They have diagnoses that include autism, Down syndrome, and learning disabilities. Project-based learning provides an opportunity for my students to learn the multifaceted aspects of running a small juice bar cafe to use academic skills such as math (measurement, money management) and reading (writing a menu, following recipes) and beyond. Please help our students on this exciting and motivating adventure!
