Kreative Krafts for Kool Kids
Funded Mar 25, 2022My students were very excited to see the popsicle sticks and be able to build their structures. Our first project was to design and build a house. The students made blueprints using graph paper to design houses and then followed their design plans to build houses. My students are anxiously awaiting their next project which will be to build amusement park rides. They are very excited. I appreciate everyone who donated to Kreactive Krafts for Kool Kids. You have added to my students' knowledge of STEAM and have helped to make their project successful.”

Funded May 5, 2020In March of 2020, we all received news that would change many lives forever - schools across the city in New York were closed, as they were in many other states. As a result, many teachers were shut out of buildings with very little resources. Luckily, teachers are resilient and have experience with being faced with unexpected challenges. So we improvised and we continue to improvise to make things work for our students as well as ourselves. However, sometimes things can work against us.
In April, as I was logging into Google Classroom to begin work, my personal laptop crashed. Fortunately, I was able to save it that day, but two days later, it crashed again, never to recover. I could not login to meetings or complete any work until a friend of mine let me borrow her device. However, that was only temporary. A co-worker suggested creating a Donors Choose project. I was very skeptical since many were losing their jobs. Nonetheless, I created a project and much to my surprise it was funded! I could not wait to receive my new laptop to reconnect with my students without worrying that I'm using someone else's laptop. Now I can connect with my students every day.
Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, students are not able to share my device and I am working with them remotely. However, I love all the features this laptop has to offer, such as taking screen shots of a document and not the entire desktop. Also being able to split my screen is a huge plus when working remotely with students. I am so very thankful for the donors who selflessly donated to my project during such a difficult time. I am very grateful to the donors and so are my students.”

Funded Mar 4, 2020Thank you so much for funding this project. I cannot wait to receive the new cases and show them to my students. They have been anxiously awaiting as well. I am confident that my students will be able to use their new iPads now and in the future with little damage.”
