  • Incentives for New Migrant ENL Students

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

There are not enough words to express my joy, gratitude, and thanks for your generous donations to my class project. My students and I are so very appreciative of your support for education and learning. We are looking forward to receiving all of these wonderful incentives to keep ourselves motivated in our learning process. They will be a great tool as we continue to grow and learn in the classroom. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

  • Technology to Enhance Our Learning

    Funded Mar 25, 2024

Thank you for funding my project. Having an influx of new immigrants in our school has been challenging but rewarding at the same time. I want all of my ENL students to progress academically and these new laptops have helped us a great deal. Many times my ENL students forget to charge their DOE borrowed devices or to bring these to school. Having these two extra devices helps us continue with our daily routines and lessons. My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We thank you on a daily basis as we use these laptops in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

  • My ENL Students Need Incentives

    Funded Feb 13, 2024

My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us get all of these great student incentives. I need to keep my newly arrived to the country ENL students engaged in classroom instruction at all times. I'm currently using ClassDojo for classroom management and I have my students practice reading and language skills on different apps. I have a weekly reward system for ClassDojo points and practice time on different websites to learn English. We really appreciate your help!”

  • A Love for Reading!

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations! My students have taken advantage of the variety of book genres we have now in the classroom. We have had many new ENL students admitted to our school this year. The new migrants are taking advantage of all of these resources available to them. They really enjoy reading books in their first language and bilingual books as well. It's been great to have all of these different options for students to choose a book of their interest. My students and I appreciate all that you have done as donors to help us achieve this goal in our classroom. Thank you for all of your help, we love reading all of the books we got because of your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

  • Help Us Have a Great Learning Environment!

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

Thank you again for your contributions to get this project funded. My students and I are really happy with all the materials we got to have a print rich environment in our classroom. Although we've gone through tough times, we are trying our best to succeed academically. Your contributions have done so much for us. We all look forward to coming into our classroom now. My ENL students benefit so much from having a lot of visuals and charts to refer back to when they need the extra help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

  • Help Us Get an Easel to Keep Engaged

    Funded Mar 11, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution! Having an easel in the classroom has been a wonderful resource. I'm able to write and share important information with my students such as lessons, homework assignments, tasks and much more. It has also served as an interactive tool since my students can come and write their ideas or answers to questions directly on the easel. I thank you once again for all of your support and contributions. My students and I really appreciate what you have done for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

  • We Love Reading!

    Funded May 13, 2020

Thank you so much for your help with this project. Having these materials has made it easier to set up our classroom in an organized way and for my students to have access to more books. My ENL entering students have been able to use the books to reinforce their language skills (copies). It is difficult for entering and transitioning ENL students to grasp the curriculum being taught because of their language barrier. That's why having these books has helped me integrate other concepts that are needed at these students' levels.

Due to the pandemic we haven't been able to share the books, therefore I've made copies for individual students. We are all trying our best to keep our students engaged during these tough times.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

  • Creating a Love for Reading

    Funded Jan 17, 2020

All I can say is wow! You made our learning dreams come true. These supplies are going to motivate and engage my students in reading and learning so much more. My students and I really appreciate your help in making this a reality. Thank you so much for supporting our class.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nieto

All children can learn if strongly supported and enthusiastically encouraged. Having an influx of new immigrants in our school has been challenging but rewarding at the same time. I want all of my ENL students to progress academically and have a wonderful future. Our dedicated group of learners face many challenges on a daily basis since many live in shelters. My school has a diverse population and in my classroom I have different learners with unique learning styles. I'm an ENL teacher at MS226 so I have the privilege of teaching middle school students that are learning English as a New Language. I strive to cultivate a positive atmosphere for all of my ENL students emphasizing collaboration, creativity and a love for learning. Encouragement and affirmation are abundant in my classroom, but resources are not! Your support in helping change that is very much appreciated! Thank you for your donations!
