Ready, Set Supplies, Go!
Funded Aug 31, 2023I would like to let you know that your donation has a made a big difference in our classroom. We were able to get the supplies very fast. We started using most of the materials right away. Students were very enthusiastic while being able to create beautiful, colorful bulletin boards. I have attached a picture of our latest bulletin board. The students picked out the border to use and the cardstock paper to put together their snowmen to complete their math activity. They also were able to have a set of 3 folders each this year to better organize their work.
Some other tools such as thick short pencils as well as coloring pencils and crayons came as a blessing since some of the students did not bring any supplies this year. Other students that have their supplies were also able to add some colors that they did not have in their pencil box. The laminating sheets have been put to good use. I have created posters and charts for the students that are going to last for years to come. We love our new sound wall!
Thank you very much. Donors like you make a big difference in children's education.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022We are having so much fun with our new resources. The writing center looks really neat with our table top organizer. Students have access to choose and get the paper they need to write their stories.
They were really excited when they got the materials and we organized our own writing area. We were able to create a chart "where are we from" using the doll cut outs and put it outside our class to share with others where out families are from and little bit about our cultures.
We are planning to present our first writing books and share them with another class.”

Funded Aug 30, 2022My students have been using the new resources daily. They have the opportunity to work with the manipulatives to demonstrate and apply their knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of math concepts.
They students were extremely excited when they saw they materials. They were asking what they were and how to work with them. Some of them were able to explain the others how to use the ten frames to represent numbers and make different arrangements.
We are going to start "Problem Solving Fridays" in January. Problem-solving skills build upon how children sense, think, and understand the world around them, making them. By being active participants in exploration, they learn to make connections they can apply to other areas of life through new experiences. The use of manipulatives helps students hone their mathematical thinking skills.”

Funded May 12, 2020I am very thankful for your support. Digital resources are very expensive and I really needed them during this time. I am currently working from home teaching students that attend the fully remote program as well as the blended remote program in New York city. The pictures are only a sample of the resources I was able to purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers. Having being able to assess and instruct students using fun and engaging materials make their learning fun. I was able to purchase a calendar set, letter sound assessments, reading related resources, Boom cards and a set of classroom rules which I use in a daily basis.
The students were very excited to see the materials. They learned quickly the virtual classroom rules and they are now able to follow as soon as they see the flash cards with directions. The reading assessments were a blessing. It took me 20 min to test each student. Reading materials are also exciting and the students are trying something new every day.
The students are still exploring the materials and get excited to work with the boom cards in their assignments. We will continue exploring the materials as there are still some of them that have not been introduced yet into the lessons.”

Remote Learning Writing Tools
Funded May 22, 2020Thank you very much for all of your support. The students received their resources at the beginning of the school year. I had to send everything by mail since I am currently working from home with a medical accommodation.
I am working jointly with an in-person teacher. The students are in a blended/remote program in NYC. I am providing remote instruction during the pandemic.
The students received the resources as part of their student packet at the beginning of the school year. The students are in a bilingual 1st grade self-contained class.
The students as well as their parents were very excited to receive the materials. They were surprised and did not expect them. They opened their packet right away.
The notebooks are going to be used in writing class. They are perfect for them because they have a space for them to make drawings and the double lines are perfect for them to improve their calligraphy.
Thank you all for your support. The children really appreciated all the materials.”
