I am requesting funding to attend the Wilson Trainer Conference in Boston. The conference will cover literacy education, current research, legislative issues, and Wilson’s programs. As a parent of a child with Dyslexia I know the importance of having a teacher that understands multi-sensory instruction and is current on research and legislation. As a Reading Specialist I use the Wilson Programs: Fundations, Just Words, and Wilson Reading System with my students. My students benefit from the research based multi-sensory instruction. The conference will discuss current trends and topics, blended with practical application to the implementation of Wilson’s programs. I am able to immediately apply tips and techniques learned from the conference to my classroom.
