I want more flexible seating choices for students in my classroom. We currently have a few yoga balls that students can choose to sit on. When they are allowed to choose flexible seating, they are more motivated to stay on task and focused. Students will use the wobble stools and yoga balls to work with partners and groups at our classroom tables.
Students work harder when they are comfortable. Children need to be able to move. Flexible seating helps keep young minds more alert and focused. It allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength.
