Studies show that children with autism and other special needs benefit from visual supports to help them learn, grow, and communicate. In my speech-language therapy, I create a variety of visual supports - from visual schedules, to power cards, from 5-point scales to social stories! However, it is incredibly difficult to develop quick, accurate visuals when I do not have access to a color printer. I try to incorporate my students' interests (Minecraft, Roblox, Pokemon, and animals - just to name a few) in their visual supports to motivate them, inspire them, and increase their confidence. It is amazing to see my students' faces light up when they see a new support tool or therapy material that resonates with them to help achieve their goals. With your help, I will be able to make these materials for my students come to life in living color immediately. We so appreciate your support!
