Addressing a child's sensory needs when they have a deficit is critical in their ability to learn. The child may need sensory weight, dim lighting, sensory chew items, or appropriate seating, just to name a few. Adapted seating allows for their body to be in the appropriate position where they are relaxed. When a student is in a relaxed position they are more likely to engage due to their sensory needs being taken care of. The seats and weighted materials will allow a student to have their needs addressed while attending to a lesson or activity. The students who is bothered by the lights will have a more calming atmosphere with the filters in place. Also, the chew toys will allow a student to chew on their specially designed toy and avoid chewing on clothing, inappropriate materials, or themselves.
