Tech for Some Super Students!

Funded Nov 6, 2019

We are so thrilled to have the iPad and implement it into our daily routines here at school. I have students who are visually impaired and with the iPad, they are able to enlarge text in books. They can also highlight text as they read and listen to audio books.

Another student of mine has a hard time manipulating a computer mouse. We use a program called iReady which individualizes Reading and Math lessons. With the iPad, he is able to use the touch screen to access his lessons.

Some other benefits of the iPad have been the ability to document activities at school. We recently had the 100th day of school and the children dressed up as if they were 100 years old. With the iPad, I am able to take pictures and videos. I then use other apps and websites such as ClassDojo and Remind to share the pictures with families and school staff. We are so thankful that our project was funded and that we are able to utilize this tech in the classroom. It has opened opportunities for my students that they would not have had if this device was not here.”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Ryan
