Classroom Materials for a Clean and Safe Space!

Funded Sep 2, 2020

First, my co-teachers and I would like to express our sincerest "thank you" to each of you for your donations. We began the academic year with limited knowledge and direction of how the school campus would be operating while students and staff alike were in the building during the global pandemic. It is because of your interest and kindness that we were able to set up our classrooms and make sure that our students were prepared and protected while they reported to the building.

Many of the supplies that you helped pay for went towards PPE and cleaning supplies for the students, their desks and chairs, their computers and headphones, and the safe utilization of each classroom on the grade team. Each student had access to their own hand sanitizer and we had plenty of masks on hand to provide to them and their families at home of they needed it. Having these items in place before the students arrived for their first day put them at ease about being inside the school building during unknown and uneasy times.

Our students are thankful for all of the items you were able to help us provide them with. The extra cleaning supplies for their individual learning spaces was probably one of the best things you could have helped us provide them with. Students were excited to be back in the building but definitely felt much safer knowing that they had these items at their disposal. Other inventory items that we were able to purchase such as pens, pencils, high lighters, post-it notes, etc. were also hugely beneficial in the classroom during the time we were all together in the building. It allowed students to not have to bring their items back and forth from their homes to the building thus limiting their exposure even more. Having these items in the classroom also helped our students express themselves when we did morning and afternoon check-ins.

We are extremely grateful to have been able to receive these items. Even though we are not currently in the building with our students face to face, I know that moving forward, with these items on hand, we may, with confidence, continue to create a safe and healthy classroom space for everyone.

Thank you all again, you have no idea how much this has truly helped our students. during these uncertain times.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Cajulis
