Students visit my room, the resource room, to help catch up on critical skills they are missing, like basic reading skills. These cards will be used in small groups. We use a variety of hands on, verbal, and visual strategies to help students remember letter sounds and groups and be able to sound out words. It can be difficult to find materials that are colorful and hit all three ways to learn. Students feel so good when they are having success, and it motivates them to keep trying and growing. These cards move from simple words to having them read complete sentences and provide a multi-sensory approach.
