I cannot thank you enough for donating these beautiful books to my class. The children have truly enjoyed listening to the stories and looking through the pages. I have read these books to my class to help my students relate to feelings they are having. One book was about frustration. A child was feeling very frustrated and angry one day so I read that book aloud. He raised his hand and told me he felt like the character in the book. It was such a great way to show the children we all have these emotions and the steps we can take to overcome them. The multicultural books have also been a wonderful addition to my classroom. The children are able to read about children just like themselves as well as learn about new cultures.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Strouman

These materials would help my students tremendously. Many of them are new to the country and are just starting to learn English. It can be very difficult to be in a classroom and not understand what is being said. I would use the picture cards to supplement the lessons for my ENL students. Looking at a photograph will keep them engaged and enable them to learn new vocabulary words. I would also be able to put those students in a small group using the center kit. With that kit, they would be able to practice reading, writing, and vocabulary skills.
