  • Dissecting Specimens Are a Cut Above

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you all for making our dissection experiences possible. We are going to have so much fun! Your generosity is greatly appreciated. This is a highlight of the year for the students. I can’t wait to see and hear their excitement while they are learning about animal parts that are similar to their own body.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fulton

  • Energize Learners With Healthy Snacks

    Funded Aug 13, 2023

We had the best time distributing healthy snacks to students in our middle school. We have a late lunch time, so students get really hungry before lunch and after athletics. We made catchy slogans to go with the snacks. The students loved them.

It made us feel good to be serving healthy snacks instead of junk food. Students that can tend to bring quick and easy snacks which most generally consist of candy.

The snacks went quickly because we served 80 plus students as many times as we could. Thanks for making a difference in our school.”

  • This Little Piggy Went to School

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

Thank you for providing these dissecting specimens for my students. They are going to be thrilled knowing they can actually study systems of the body and how they work together with actual specimens instead of only reading it from a book or seeing it online. I just can’t thank you enough.”

  • Oh The Places We Will Go!

    Funded Jun 22, 2022

I have saved so much time this year by using your generous gift of 5 TeachersPayTeachers gift cards. I can purchase already made hands-on lesson plans to use with my students. These lessons are complete with lists of supplies, prior knowledge info sheets, actual instructional hand outs, rubrics, and keys. It's less preparation for me, but the real win is for the students who are loving and reaping the educational benefits of these hands-on science activities. Thank you for supporting critical thinking and engaging science projects for my students.”

  • Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Future Scientists in the Making!

    Funded Feb 14, 2022

We love the science kits, materials, and life-size skeleton you purchased for our classroom. Our students love Mr. Bones. He has made their learning of the major bone groups fun and has given them a more realistic view of what the skeletal system does for the body and other systems that sustain life. The skeleton will be used many times throughout the school year, year after year.

Our favorite so far has been the solar car model STEM project. Every single student was fully engaged the whole time! They didn't even mind the result and conclusion report in the end. Their minds were churning and eager to develop a working model, then work to improve it for better performance. The races and gathering of data and graph making were a blast for the kids. I will definitely use this year after year in my classroom.

I can't wait to use the other materials and kits. I expect them to be amazing as well. I could never afford these supplies on my own. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fulton

  • Cells: Hidden Wonders

    Funded Dec 23, 2021

The plant and animal microscope slides, especially the human tissue and forensics mystery blood kit, opened up a whole new interest for my students. They had so many thought-provoking questions that I invited a former graduate from our school who is a 30-year experienced medical laboratory scientist to come explain the concepts more in depth to them. She better explained how to locate certain parts of the cells and what it takes to be able to see and study the parts we couldn't see with the magnification on our scopes. She brought safe blood slide samples that showed what cells look like when infected with pneumonia and sickle cell anemia. The students learned how to distinguish between plant and animal cells first hand and how professionals use blood samples to help people get well and often save their lives.

I loved seeing my students fully engaged in this lesson all day long. They were given sheets with different scenarios on it. They studied slides under the microscopes and determined the "flaws" in their cell specimens to help them determine what illnesses each "patient" had. It was so fun watching their eyes light up when they solved the mysteries.

I am also thrilled that the microscope slides can be used again year after year. Thanks to you, my students have a solid foundation on the middle school level of comparing and relating to cells in plants, animals, and especially human tissue and blood.”

  • On the Road to Financial Success

    Funded Aug 8, 2021

The resources in this curriculum set are amazing. We just finished setting up and demonstrating various business skills during their "cooking" businesses. The materials in the kit gave me ideas that I would not have thought of on my own. It saved me a lot of brainstorm and prep time.

The students loved the Pay Day games the best. They even wagered some of their personal items with one another to have a greater chance at winning the Pay Day lottery.

Thank you for your generous donation. I will be able to use these materials for our upcoming lemonade businesses and many more activities.”

  • Exploring Living Things Inside and Out

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for funding our dissection specimens. Every student was amazed and on task. Our 6th graders dissected fetal pigs. The 7th graders chose pregnant rats, and the 8th graders dissected dogfish sharks.

These specimens gave our students a hands-on approach to study systems of the body. We mainly focused on the digestive system. The students removed each part of the system and put it in labeled containers. They were amazed that organs, such as what they were witnessing first-hand, sustain life.”

  • See Media Students Shine!

    Funded Dec 17, 2019

We have had the best time learning with the products that you provided. My students write news articles and submit them to our local newspaper. They built their own article portfolios with the binders you provided.

The printer has allowed the students to print their articles so they can have a hard copy and see their progress over time. They can also print projects they create through Adobe Creative Suite and distribute and/or sell throughout our campuses.

We had the best time using the microphones for interviewing and making our own rendition of Summer Nights from Grease. It has given the students much confidence.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fulton

I tried to keep the items requested simple. My media students will be able to showcase their work and build a portfolio that they can refer back to and compare their progress in the course. Students will be able to conduct more efficient video interviews, print the articles they publish on our website and in the local newspaper, and build a portfolio of their masterpieces. Students seek out students in PreK through 12th grade who have excelled in areas including academics, sports, manners, etc. They write news articles and submit them to our local newspapers to be published along with photographs. They conduct video interviews of the students, teachers, and events as well that is posted on social media to help let the public know about the successes of students at our school. We have limited technology. Students mainly use their cell phones for recording information and videoing their interviews. These microphones will allow higher qualities production. With the printer, students can print their articles and have a hard copy to evaluate with me and their peers to help enhance their audience grabbing headlines and intros as well as discuss areas of strengths and weaknesses. My students are amazing; they just have very little resources. We want to build our classroom a little bit at a time. These items are an excellent start and will benefit the students tremendously.
