  • Treasure Chest Prizes

    Funded May 14, 2024

P.B.I.S stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support. This system helps to improve the behavior of students school-wide. It has been proven to not only improve their behavior, but, also their academics and social skills.

In my classroom I have been able to reward and recognize those students with positive behavior in and out of the classroom.

The variety of toys listed such as fidget toys and squishies have been so popular within kindergarten. Thanks to your donations, I was able to restock my treasure chest to continue to support our school P.B.I.S program within my class.

Having a treasure chest also encourages and motivate students to participate more in the classroom. This ranges from trying their best on any assignment, supporting their peers, and simply answering questions in class.”

  • Starting The Year In Kindergarten

    Funded May 11, 2024

Thanks to your donations: our class can practice writing our letters numbers, solving math problems, drawing shapes and other pictures. Play-doh is always a favorite in a Kindergarten classroom and we use it often. Play-doh will be used in many creative ways to spark excitement in learning. There are many art projects that take place throughout the days in our classroom so we need googly eyes. As I prepare materials to start the year I will use pencil toppers as rewards. I also like to acknowledge every child's birthday with a special birthday bracelet, which they usually love. The suitcase is to organize and bring to school all my teaching resources.”

  • Eat Healthy, Be Healthy! School Garden!

    Funded Apr 30, 2024

Thanks to your donations: My students now can use the step stool to present the information to the class about our projects about planting. Everything they need to know is available in the books. Putting books in the students' hands will allow them to be responsible for their own research. They will focus on health and how food impacts our health, what is best to grow in our region and how to care for a garden.

The step stool will allow them to address the students as each group of students will present their projects to the rest of the class.

Students will discover how they are capable of impacting their world.”

  • Help Us Grow With Our Outdoor Learning Center

    Funded Apr 9, 2024

Thanks to your donations: we will use our outdoor learning center for our children to incorporate into all aspects of their academics -- including writing, reading, science, math, and social studies -- as well as to nurture social-emotional health.

Time in the garden will teach my students about team building and promote communication skills. We will plan a garden, plant the seeds and watch them grow, which will give kids a sense of purpose and responsibility. Students will make sure that the plants get enough fertilizer, water, and sun fosters mindfulness.

Gardening teaches a lot of emotional development as they learn about failure and disappointment as well as success. The students will also learn about the plant's needs which helps them learn about other living things needs. Learning to take care of a living thing has untold benefits.

Through professional development, I will be able to acquire new teaching strategies to benefits my students at out outdoor learning lab by providing effective lessons that will ensure their growth.”

The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, specially to review concepts. When we review concepts, such as the essential questions of a unit, students use a sentence trip that has a whiteboard surface to answer the questions and show me their responses. These sentence strips are not durable and are constantly breaking. The use of whiteboards would be more durable and allow me to see right away how well the students understand the concepts and will also keep them engaged. Also, I will be able to see what everyone is doing. The use of whiteboards is also a great resource when we work with small group instruction, where students record modeled strategies and work in pairs to show and share their work. By donating to our project, you will not only help me offer fun engaging lessons, you will ultimately increase their academic achievement. The students will use the whiteboards to work in fun, engaging & interactive lessons. Students will also be able to participate in rotating stations to practice their listening skills with the use of the headphones.
