  • Headphones for Hardy's Class

    Thank you so much for donating to our class project from a few months back. It means to much to have people in my and my students' lives that care so much about them receiving the high quality education that they deserve!

    While we were in school, my students were able to get a lot of use out of the headphones. They used them everyday they had my class which was 3 times per week. They used them to maximize the use of the apps that we use in class. Many of them struggle with reading, so having the option to have things read to them is incredibly helpful and greatly improves their comprehension.

    I will continue to use these headphones in the coming years for all of my students to have equitable access to learning. They are of immeasurable benefit to our class, and we are so grateful for you all for helping us obtain them.”

  • Materials for a Rewarding Learning Environment!

    Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The effects of your donation have been felt strongly in our room already. The students have been so engaged and motivated by all of the snacks that I have to offer them, and I am all about boosting participation and motivation by any means necessary!

    The supply cart that has been purchased has been so helpful in creating an organized and functional space for students. They know exactly what to find when they need something, and we have created new systems and routines for turning in assignments. The students know to put completed work in the top drawer of the cart which has drastically reduced our transition time between assignments.

    We are starting a mini unit on dictionary skills this week in order to help students better comprehend unfamiliar words in their reading. These skills will be essential for them in passing their state tests, and with your contribution, we now have a dictionary for every student in the class.

My students are eager to learn; however, they always appreciate and respond well to food as a motivation to do so! I'm asking for some of their favorite food rewards to be funded. Whenever I pull out candy or some kind of food, motivation to participate goes through the roof. The materials I've requested will maximize student engagement in the classroom. As well as food rewards, I'm also asking for some games to use in the classroom as well. These will be implemented in a way that supplements and enhances what we are learning in class. Finally, I'm asking for basic classroom needs items, such as scissors, dry erase markers, dictionaries, and classroom organization drawers. The sum of these items will create a classroom rich in rewarding, educational fun!
