We do not have any tricycles, scooters or helmets for the children to ride on. This gross motor activity also benefits neurological and physical development as well. Think of how the whole body is working to just balance, not to mention all of the other concepts like simple machines, friction and force. Think of all of the things that are happening within the brain and the body just to sit on a bike and make it move. Think of the excitement a child will have riding a bike for the 1st time. There is not much more to say about this other than it is needed and extremely beneficial to the child's development.
