My students are looking for books that reflect their diverse voices. They also love to read graphic novels, and have requested several from series they like. High interest books that I've purchased in the past have been a hit in our classroom library! They have already been read by dozens of students and continue to be passed from friend to friend every week. I can't keep them on the bookshelf! Reading is an important part of language learning. Many of my students never learned to read in their home language, making English literacy a challenging, but extremely rewarding task. I love seeing my students excited about reading, and that would not be possible without great books like these. Finding books at the appropriate level with high school content is challenging, so these books caught my attention right away. I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to my classroom library. Literacy is power, and it is a priceless skill for these young immigrants who will have a great impact on the future. Thank you so much again!
