These flex-space seating options will be a great addition to my first grade classroom! There are six great benefits to this type of seating: 1) Choice 2)Movement 3)Community 4)Comfort 5)Collaboration and 6)Sensory input. Look at how these benefits will impact my classroom! Choice: Students will feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their learning environment. Movement: Children need to move! Flexible seating allows for students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand without distracting themselves or others. Community: Giving students choices in their learning environment helps create a wonderful classroom community. Comfort: A comfortable student is a focused, productive student. Collaboration: Having flexible seating allows for students to easily work together in small groups or partnerships. Sensory Input: Many flexible seating options stimulate a students sense of touch. This type of stimulation helps children focus and process information. Please help bring flexible seating into my first grade classroom!
