  • What’s Up Doc(ument Camera)

    Funded Sep 15, 2023

Thank you so much for the funds for the document camera! We are currently working on geometric constructions and it is one of the most difficult topics to teach 30+ students at once. Having the camera showing my hands, I am able to show the students how to use a compass and straightedge instead of sitting with each student individually and showing them one by one.

My students love watching the front board as I explain each problem and trying it themselves. We appreciate your kind gestures. Have a happy holiday.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Goldman

  • Class Materials on the Go!

    Funded Jan 16, 2021

Thank you again for your thoughtful donation! The students are slowly coming back to the building and adjusting to the new blended model of learning. The students were so excited to see the materials on the cart as I circulated from classroom to classroom! They have been staying organized by using the binders and bins in the shelving unit. The bins make the room nice and cozy, and less like a school setting. It has been a challenging year for everyone and this small effort has made a big impact.”

  • School Supplies for Students

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

I have created a few fundraisers to help establish my classroom presence. This has been one of the most helpful. Students had been taking pictures of the notes on the board and copy it into their notebooks at a later time when they finally get a pencil. These school supplies have made such a great impact. Once delivered, the students could see a difference in their productivity. Students had been getting lost with the lesson. The pencils have been very helpful in that the students could now follow along with guided notes. The timer has been super helpful as well. They can keep track of the time they need to complete assignments. Thank you so much for your help!”

  • Don't Fear the Document Reader

    Funded Oct 15, 2019

I sincerely appreciate your kind efforts to help my students. They absolutely love the document camera! The special education principal was overjoyed to deliver the package to my classroom. We have been using it daily to take notes and follow along with the lesson. Students can see how I solve problems and make constructions by looking at the projected screen.

Student engagement has increased dramatically. More kids are participating and completing assignments. The students want to come up and show their work under the camera; see it get enlarged for everyone to see. Their first project was a success with lovely constructions and designs. We were able to display a few on the bulletin board in a main hallway.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Goldman

Students with visual impairments will be able to follow along with guided notes and fill in blanks as the lesson flows on the board. Having this document reader will save time from the teacher checking every student's paper after each sentence is spoken. The lessons should be student centered and I have been spending too much time repeating and spelling words. By having the words on the board along with the exact image of the worksheets, students will be able to see how to complete the assignments. This will also help the teacher easily enlarge the worksheets onto the wall.
