  • Coding a Bright Lunar New Year

    Funded Dec 19, 2023

We want to express our deepest appreciation for your incredible support in funding our Coding and Cultural Celebration project. Your generosity has had a transformative impact on our students' learning experiences, bridging the gap between technology and education in an inspiring way.

Your contributions have enabled us to introduce coding into our classrooms using the user-friendly Scratch Jr. on a new iPad. This technology is not just a tool; it's a gateway to a new world of learning for our students. Many of our donors, who are familiar with technology in a home setting, may wonder about its impact in the educational context. The integration of coding has empowered our students to navigate the digital landscape with confidence and creativity. They are not just consumers of technology but creators, honing skills that are essential for their future success.

The most exciting aspect for our students is the prospect of creating culturally rich stories, especially as we approach the Chinese New Year. This project allows them to blend technology with their cultural heritage, making learning not only engaging but also personally meaningful. We've witnessed a remarkable enthusiasm among our students, who are eager to express their creativity and showcase their cultural pride through coding.

Moreover, certain students have particularly embraced this new technology with great enthusiasm. Bilingual learners, in particular, have found Scratch Jr. to be a welcoming and accessible platform, allowing them to express themselves through coding in a way that resonates with their unique experiences. Your support has not only provided a technological resource but has opened doors for personal and academic growth, making a lasting impact on these students.

Once again, thank you for being champions of education and for making a difference in the lives of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Roberts

  • Calming Area

    Funded Jan 5, 2023

This project has brought joy to our whole classroom and our students know that my we care about each other. I explained that now we have a relaxing corner to "chill out" when we don't feel great and need time to reflect. We can take time to squeeze that kinetic sand and build things to distract our minds and think positive things. We have a peaceful flex seat to enjoy sensory beads or read a book. We also discussed why it's important to talk about our emotions and have a place to go when we are having a difficult time. Everyone enjoyed this experience and know that our feelings count because we have a "Calming Area". Thank you for caring about our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Roberts

  • Steaming Projects With an iPad

    Funded Nov 11, 2022

Our students shouted with excitement when I showed our brand new iPad! Immediately we put it into use. We started to code and collaborate with another class. Communication is also crucial in the STEM process. We created a maze to take our robots from point A to point B in the fastest and safer way. We coded our robots and then designed our world in Minecraft. We made it a challenge to recreate the maze on this virtual world. The possibilities are endless when we are given the opportunity to explore and engage with the latest in educational technology.

Once again, thank you for believing and supporting our class!”

    With gratitude,

  • iPad for Professional Development

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

I am incredibly grateful for your gracious generous donation. I am thrilled to have this EdTech device and the ability to follow up during our professional development meetings. Just last week I was able to check my students data and plan for small group lessons with my colleagues. The flexibility and simplicity of handling this iPad is just a heaven's gift. Your investment and support inspires me to do better each and every day. I have already scheduled other grade level meetings to share resources and amazing applications to benefit our students.

Thank you for believing in us educators!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Roberts

  • Kinder Architects & Engineers

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Our students were so excited as we opened each box! They couldn't wait to start building and using their creativity. It is an incredible sight to see the collaboration, communication, and critical thinking as they decide what to create with each piece of this fantastic STEM activity.

Each day we plan on creating a different structure and it was a perfect addition to our classroom stations.

I was blown away with what kindness and generosity can do. I hope to continue to empower our students with knowledge and prepare them with the necessary skills for this 21st century world. The sky's the limit!

Thank you for modeling the magic of giving!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Roberts

  • Magformer Kinder Klub

    Funded Nov 9, 2019

Because of your generosity our project has been funded and our students and I are all tremendously excited! Everybody was surprised to see the Magformers box. Their faces were priceless. With your support, we are able to have more engaging stations where students are able to get their hands on some of these building magnetic blocks.

I think it is important for my kindergarten students to be able to collaborate and create! These STEAM blocks will give them the opportunity to have a hands on way to do just that!

One more time, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Roberts

Blocks form an important part of elementary curriculum. The materials requested here will be used to teach my Kindergarten students to think critically and make informed choices. Many skills in science, math, and engineering are learned through building with blocks - students learn about stability, weight, balance, and gravity; they learn to think creatively about design and think about why some structures stand strong and why other collapse. The Magformers kit will be used to develop problem solving abilities, concepts of balance and scale, pattern recognition, fine motor skills, and to inspire students to engage in imaginative play and story-telling.
