  • Strive to Thrive

    Funded Dec 30, 2024

Your generosity goes above and beyond any thank you my scholars and I can give. You are truly helping to change the lives of kids in classrooms, more than you know. Saying thank you doesn’t seem to be enough for your kindness. My students look forward to coming to my room, daily, due to these projects being funded by you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! May your new year be filled with lots of joy, laughter, happiness and peace.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowens-Belle

  • Yearning for Learning

    Funded Aug 25, 2024

I'd like to thank you all again, for your generous donations. They have impacted my scholars lives more than you could. imagine.

When they first saw these new additions to their room, they were so amazed at how it has changed the look and abilities to them. The bookshelf provided an opportunity for them be able to bookshelf on their own. With the shelf being at a reasonable height, it is perfect for them to peruse the books.

The binders have allowed me to organize their books by group, making things run smoother and be much more easily accessible. The lamp has added an ambiance to the room, creating a soothing learning environment.

Thank you for creating a space for my scholars that allows them to work outside of the box.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowens-Belle

  • Sit and Read With Me!

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

My students were absolutely ecstatic to receive each and everyone of these items. From the shelf, to the drivers boards, to the incentive prizes.

The bookshelf literally meets them where they are and makes book shopping and browsing so much easier and much more fun for them.

The dry erase boards gives them an opportunity to show their work to their peers, which they are so proud of and it allows me the opportunity to teach on a wide spectrum. These boards suit all of us in so many ways.

The incentives is a fun way to incorporate phonics and we are beyond grateful.”

  • Visible Reading

    Funded Dec 13, 2023

My students have never been happier to receive such amazing materials. The bookseller has allowed for all of their books to be displayed, while being at a reasonable reach for the to comfortably shop. They are beyond ecstatic to have this independence with something suitable for them.

When they first saw these supplies, it was an overwhelming look of happiness on their faces that I wish I would've captured on video. They all replied "Is that for us?". They were simply overjoyed.

With these new materials, I plan to allow the students the opportunity to utilize them and feel comfortable doing so.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowens-Belle

  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

I'd like to thank you all for your generous contributions. These materials have really helped my students have access to materials they need in order to thrive.

While using the decodable books, they are able to feel like they have texts on their level, without feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.

When they first saw these books, they were in disbelief that they were actually texts they could read and related to them.

Once they saw the literacy games, they were in shock they this was a tool they could use to have fun AND learn. It's really opened their eyes to learning success.

    Thank you all, again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowens-Belle

  • Learning at Ease

    Funded Apr 27, 2023

First, I'd like to thank all of my donors. These materials have really impacted the way my scholars look at entering a classroom, learning and feeling comfortable in their environment, while having the resources needed to help them succeed.

When my students saw all of the new things added, they were absolutely amazed. Most amazed to know that all rooms don't have to look the same and coming into my particular room, meant learning whilst feeling comfortable in a tranquil environment. Having their own decodable texts, that they are able to read and use strategies to get through, without feeling frustrated, meant the world to them.

Something as simple as having a rotating pen/pencil holder, made them feel like an adult. Using something so simple, yet so accessible for everyone to access with a simple turn.

This project changed the perspective of my scholars, and we are forever grateful to all of our donors.”

  • A Table For You & Me

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

I could've never imagined how much these materials would've meant to myself and most of all, my students. They were absolutely flabbergasted when they first saw them, and even more blown away when they realized they could write on the AT THE SAME TIME as working. They couldn't believe such a thing existed and they thought I was doing something wrong. It was such a joy to see the amazement in their eyes.

Being able to have the accessibility of writing as they are working, without the need of stopping to take out a notebook etc, is pure ease. To have their work right next to them and be able to put their thoughts right there, on the table eases so much anxiety. They can literally think and jot.

During our phonics lessons, we are able to break words apart, right there on the desk. We are able to use our sound boxes when we reach a tricky word to solve it, without having to take time to open notebooks,

During sentence writing, we can all see their work and correct it as a group, being able to clearly view everyone's work.

Anyone who has walked into my room LOVES the idea of this and thinks it should be schoolwide. I cannot thank the donors enough, for the funding of this truly amazing project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowens-Belle

These chair bands will give my students an opportunity to have a chance at reading comfortably without feeling like they "have to sit in one position", which for the population I work with, is impossible. I want them to know, it's ok to be different and struggle with something like, reading, or sitting with their feet in an "aimless" position. I want my students to get a chance to succeed, and even if sitting seems simple to some, it's tough to most! I've noticed how hard it has been for my students to do something as simple as writing their name, or reading a title, without swinging their legs, hitting them on the side of the table, or kicking someone else. It's not their fault and I want to support them in their needs. This will make such a difference in their everyday learning!
