  • Animals, Animals, Animals!

    Funded Jan 24, 2025

Hello everyone! My preschoolers and I can’t thank you enough for all your help getting this project funded! We are currently studying arctic animals, so we will be using these animals immediately! My students are so excited and already asking questions, reading books, and exploring animals! Thank you again’”

  • New-Age Listening Center

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thanks so much for helping us purchase our Tonie box! I used the Tonie in our listening center. My students loved changing the characters, hearing new stories, and singing songs. The kids also learned how to share and take turns, as only 2 students were allowed to use the Tonie at a time. Communication skills were practiced daily when students would talk to each other about what story the wanted to read, song they wanted to hear, etc. I made many of the books related to the Tonie story available. My students could read along, look at the pictures, and learn important pre-literacy skills.

Again, I am so thankful for the opportunity to provide this Tonie box to my students and appreciate all your help!”

  • Cool Counting Kids

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

Thanks so much for helping my students gain access to these sorting and counting cards. One thing I love about these manipulatives, is that my students can count them, sort them, practice color recognition, and so much more! My classroom has students from ages 3-5 so some of them are not yet counting very high. We can practice counting in the low numbers and more advanced students can model counting higher. I am so excited to watch my students use this activity to make progress in math skills! Thanks again!”

  • Learning With Magnets

    Funded Oct 4, 2023

The magnets you helped us buy are engaging and interesting to my preschoolers! Right now, we are studying dinosaurs and the dinosaur magnets have been one of their favorite items! They use the dino magnets to sort, act out stories, and trace.

We have also gotten a lot of use out of the color sorting magnets. My students use these to not only learn names of colors, but to sort, count and practice critical language skills.

We are so appreciative of your donations and we look forward to using these materials for many years to come.”

  • Outside Learning

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

The materials you helped donate have impacted my students immensely! The new playhouses are very popular! The students love pretending to cook food for their peers and teachers and are learning so much about cooperative play. They watched as our custodian was putting the houses together and brainstormed ways they would use the new houses, how they would play, and how many could play at one time. When the houses were finally put together, they all ran to explore and instantly started pretending. They created a home, restaurant and school.

The shed has helped our students learn about how and why we need to take care of our materials as well as organizational skills. Each day they run to the shed to collect the items they need for their play and return them when they are finished.

The sandbox was put together so late this Spring that the students have had much time to explore it yet, but they are learning about measurement, social problem solving and so much more.”

  • Class Pets

    Funded Jan 31, 2023

When our new cage was delivered, the student were so excited! They talked about how much bigger it is and how it rolls! We put our guinea pigs in the new cage and my students were overjoyed to watch them run and play in their new house.

As for me, the cage has been a lifesaver! Carrying a cage back and forth to school each week was difficult to say the least. Now I can roll the cage all the way into school and I am so thankful for the strain taken off my body.

My students watch our guinea pigs everyday. They love feeding them, petting them and reading to them. They are learning how to take care of our pets, and this is helping them take care of each other as well. We love reading books about guinea pigs, drawing and writing about them, and talking to each other about all the things they do.

Thanks so much for all your help!”

  • Preschool Basics

    Funded Aug 5, 2021

Thank you so much for helping us get necessary pre-writing materials in our classroom. Each child is able to have their own journal that they can work with anytime. They also have access to writing tools and supplies. My students absolutely love sitting down in our writing center and using their journals. They're practicing fine motor skills, phonological awareness, and concepts about print, just to name a few. We feel very fortunate to have received your donation and I know that these materials will help my students gain necessary foundational skills for their future school years. Thanks again!”

  • Zoo-Phonics to Teach Basics to My Preschoolers!

    Funded May 11, 2021

When I read about the Zoo-Phonics curriculum last year, I realized it aligned with several of my teaching strategies. Zoo-Phonics introduces all the letters to the students in the first week and then reviews them slowly. At first, I thought this would be too much for my preschoolers, especially the 3-year-olds. But, I was wrong! The kids were immediately excited about the animals and movements that teach the letters. The learned the movements so quickly and I've been amazed at their excitement each day.

We go through all the letters and corresponding movements each day and I am noticing the students using the letter sounds throughout the day. It's only our third week of school! I can't wait to see how they progress this year using Zoo-Phonics. We will continue to practice letters and movements and move on to letter formation and grouping. Thanks for all your help to purchase this curriculum! Not only will my students this year get a great head start, but my preschoolers for years to come will be ready for reading!”

  • Outside Classroom

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

My students are really enjoying all the new materials outside! We finally got to come back to preschool after a year and the kids all ran to the playground to see the materials there.

They were so excited when they saw all the new things!

The favorite has to be the digger! All the kids want to play with that right when we get to the playground! They are learning social skills such as sharing and turn taking; speech and language skills like asking for a turn and talking about what they are doing; gross and fine motor skills like crossing midline and coordinating movements.

We decided to leave the tool table inside the classroom because it is untreated wood. However, they have loved that addition and are pretending to build and following directions.

I've used the writing mat a lot already to practice letter recognition and writing. We also use the stepping stones and balance beams to make obstacle courses to practice particular gross motor skills. I can already see their growth after a week!

We will continue to learn outside as much as possible to stay safe and healthy. In the coming weeks, I will plan more activities that incorporate the materials we got from your donations.”

  • Math Fun!

    Funded Jan 31, 2020

The math materials you helped us purchase have greatly impacted our classroom! The materials allow for hands-on, open-ended, natural play while still giving us opportunity to build a strong mathematical foundation. My students were most attracted to the brightly colored counters. These are inviting and allow me to work with the students on counting, sorting and patterning.

We LOVE books, especially with manipulatives. I think we have read 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' at least a dozen times! The felt pieces allow the children to practice sequencing, counting and comparison words, but incorporate literacy which is so essential at this age.

I have been able to incorporate each of the materials you helped purchase into so many activities, structured and unstructured. We are so thankful for your donations and I know that these materials are help building a successful academic future for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jennie

My students love pretending and creating in the classroom! This curiosity extends to the playground. A mud kitchen would help them to extend their imaginative play and include nature. By using the mud kitchen, my students would learn about social cooperation by taking turns and sharing materials. While "cooking", my students will learn about measurement, sequencing, and number identification. We focus on language development in all areas of our day. This mud kitchen would help them to use more language with peers and adults. I am teaching my students independence and respect by cleaning up and organizing materials. These skills can continue onto the playground with the new storage bench. With this, students can put away their materials and they will be safe from the elements.
