Bring the Life Cycle to Life
Funded Aug 14, 2023Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to study the cycle of life so closely. The original plan for our classroom ecosystem has turned into so many other learning opportunities for myself and my scholars.
The most valuable lesson they have learned so far is the importance of paying close attention to every small detail and how to be patient for our intended outcomes to actually reach fruition. After four months of tending to our water and preparing to plant seeds, we had just harvested our first batch of classroom veggies before the Winter break.
When school begins again in the new year, I will be adding fish to our tank and I am excited to introduce my scholars to a new kind of responsibility and commonality for us all to share. We wouldn't have had the opportunity for all of our learning if it weren't for you. Many thanks- always.”
With gratitude,

Funded Jan 24, 2022Having their own personal "grab bag" of necessary technological tools made it possible for many of my students to continue learning from home in a manner to which they were unaccustomed.
Students were able to join online meetings with their new head phones and contribute to discussions being held.
Having a mouse to use with their chrome books made completing assignments easier, which increased the number of submitted assignments.
Lack of charged tools was no longer an issue as each student had their own charging cords or back up battery for each item in their bag.
As a class, we accomplished more on distance learning days AFTER receiving this gift from you, than we had all year long.
We can never say thank you enough.”

3rd Grade: In Living Color
Funded Jun 10, 2021When I started out wanting a color printer for my classroom, it was mainly for student work to be finalized in color. I knew this would be more rewarding to them and raise their level of investment in their overall presentation of their learning. What I didn't understand was the additional learning opportunities this would open.
In the simple process of printing a color picture, my students have learned how to legally and safely find, save, download, edit, attach, and email pictures. WOW! I didn't realize how many skills went in to such a seemingly simple task.
They have, thanks to this printer, become emailing masters and a few have discovered a love of digital design/artistry. They can also use tools associated with all of these activities such as spell check while practicing their typing skills in a real world application.
I had no idea I could teach my students such "tech savvy" and real world applicable skills just by giving them access to print a colored picture. I am more appreciative of this gift from you than I can ever express.”

Funded Dec 2, 2020The document camera and monitors that we received have benefited so many of my students! With both distance and face to face learners last year, I was able to instruct both groups with equal dedication. I would use the document camera to record lessons for the distance learners while at home. I also used it to make presentations showing expectations for big projects like book reports or inquiry projects.
The technology has also benefited parents as I am able to clarify via online meetings and recordings much more easily than a typed paragraph of instructions. We were also able to hold impromptu question and answer sessions, have regular parent teacher conferences, and provide feedback in order to scaffold my students' learning.
My ability to present myself and my teaching methods using the technology from this grant is a huge reason that my students had as much success as they did last year. I continue to use it this year in hopes that it will benefit this group of students as well.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. A. Miller
