Literacy Club, Engaging Learners Using the Science of Reading
Funded Aug 3, 2023I am so appreciative of your generosity and funding for my project! I cannot wait to get access to this incredible site of resources to help me grow professionally, enabling me to best meet the needs of my 2nd grade learners! It is not often we find resources that can do both, and I am beyond excited to start learning more about how to best engage my young learners!”

Funded Oct 17, 2019Dear Gloria,
Our second grade learners are so appreciative of your generosity. We do not have desks in our room for all learners. So we use seat sacks to store our belongings and keep us organized. After a fire inspection, it was discovered that our old sacks were not fire safe so they had to be removed. I immediately came to donors choose in hopes of replacing them with seat sacks that would be a safe alternative.
We were more than pleased when our new seat sacks, as a result of your donation, arrived just 2 days after we had to remove our old ones. The children were elated as I opened the box. They use these daily to keep themselves organized. They are able to have "personal" space while they share a community table with others.
As our school year continues, we have many long term units that we are learning about. Our current one is penguins. This unit started with learning general knowledge of penguins. Now, each student is researching and writing a nonfiction book about a particular breed of penguin. Having their seat sack with their work folder has been a great place for them to keep track of the items they need each day to continue to master their knowledge. We will do the same for other units like biographies and the rain forest. WE are so very appreciative of your generosity. Our learning was barely impacted because of your swift action to help!
Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cutuli
