Exploring with balance is beneficial to children because it helps them develop body control. When our Pre-K students learn to balance they are learning how to do a task fluidly. They practice how to center their bodies so that they can sit upright, walk without stumbling, and participate in daily activities. The balance builder activity set and a balance beam assist our students in learning how to react to sudden changes of direction and assist with other skills they are building.
When children have good balance and coordination, they limit the risk of injuries due to falling and improper balance.
Balancing will help children with body awareness, self regulation, muscular strength, attention and concentration, and sensory processing.
