As a teacher that is passionate about Math, Science, Art and Literature I develop lesson plans that are multi-sensory in order to create an environment that nourishes creativity, investigation and a sense of accomplishment. The items I have requested are specifically chosen to offer tactile, sensory, and visual opportunities for learning. I do not have access to a color printer on my campus, and truly when offering visual supports it is best practices to offer items in color, specifically in a matching activity. I will laminate any vocabulary and task-specific cards in order to use the materials as often as possible as they relate to different units. The bats, the owls, and the birds will be used when teaching the differences and similarities between the three. I will read the book Stellaluna as a foundation for this Math and Science Unit. I will then build an art, fine motor, language arts, and dramatic play component in centers around the classroom for each child to investigate, create and develop a social-emotional awareness for themselves as well as for nature.
